WB SSC (West Bengal Staff Selection Commission) Exam 2013

As per we know the official website www.wbssc.gov.in has already been invited for online and offline application form for the recruitment of LDC/LDA 2013. In this post we are going to discuss about how to take participate in the examination and what is the scheme of examination with its syllabus. Now time to know examination scheme of WB SSC for LDA/LDC examination.


As per the notification examination shall consist of two part viz. Part-1 and Part-2, both Parts shall be held on same day. There 100 marks for Part-1 Examination, numbers of questions in the Paper 1 examination are 100 questions and 01 mark for each of question. The examination will comprise of multiple choice objective type question. Normally questions are from English, General Studies, Arithmetic, etc. There are 30 marks for English and Arithmetic and for General Studies it is 40 marks. Part-II shall consist of conventional type questions on Group A and Group B. Group A is only for English and Group B for Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali carrying 50 marks each for Group A and Group B. Duration of Part 1 examination shall be 01 hrs 30 minutes and for Part 2 examination it is 01 hr. Final merit lists shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the two parts.

WBSCC Syllabus of Examination

As we mentioned about the examination shall be held in to Part, so syllabus are different for each part. Read below about the syllabus of WBSSC LDC Examination.

Syllabus for Part-1 Examination
There are three subjects as mentioned about i.e. English, General Studies and Arithmetic. For English you should have to learn about fundamentals of the English such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage, etc. For GS (General Studies) you should have to learn about matters of everyday observation including everyday science, current events (by news papers and news channels) and problems with special reference to India, Elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography. And for Arithmetic, Go with any competitive reference math examination book and learn about Divisibility, Simplification, H.C.F., L.C.M., Fractions, Decimals, Recurring Decimals, Partnership, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, Area of Rectangle & Squares.

Syllabus for Part-2 Examination
As per we know the paper II examination carrying two Groups, Group A and Group B. In Group A the subject only consist English, for English the syllabus are about Drafting of a report in English from points or materials supplied, Condensing of a prose passage (summary or precis), Translation from Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali, as the case may be, into English as per WBSSC official notification. Now time to know about Group B syllabus, this Group B examination shall be held for the paper Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali, and syllabus for all language are same as English but different between Group A and Group B syllabus is Translation. In Group A you have to Translation from Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali, as the case may be, into English and in Group B Translation from English into Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali.
